Tap Tap Toy
A pocket-sized paper spring pop-up with four kawaii friends
Meet your new desk companion. Tap Tap Toy is a tiny paper pop-up built from two cubes and a hidden paper spring — push the top cube down onto the base, let go, and it springs right back up. A satisfying little motion that's surprisingly hard to put down. Four kawaii animal friends live on the base cube: a shiba inu, a capybara holding an orange, a tabby cat, and a pink bunny. The top face wears the LittleEkkoCo balloon, so every tap is a little "hello" from the shop. **Perfect for** quiet-time crafts with kids, classroom activities, rainy-day projects, or a little desk toy for fidgety hands. **How the spring works.** Four paper strips are paired into two square springs — a classic accordion spring made by weaving two strips perpendicular and folding them back-and-forth. Stacking two springs gives about 7 cm of satisfying travel, enough for a real pop. **How to make it.** Print at 100% scale (Actual Size, not Fit to Page) on 100–150 gsm paper — lighter paper means a smoother pop. Cut along solid lines, fold along dashed lines, glue the two cubes together, weave the spring strips, and sandwich the spring between the cubes. About 30 minutes of quiet crafting time. No cutting machine, no special tools. "Tap it. Watch it pop." For personal and classroom use. Please don't resell, redistribute, or repackage the files — if you love it, share the LittleEkkoCo link instead. That's the nicest thing you can do.
